Then onto weaving. Pattern is created by tromping on the treadles with your feet, which raise the shafts the heddles sit on (also in pattern). Each thread, wound onto a bobbin, is fed through the raised combination of threads in a shuttle and is interlocked at the side over (or under) a selvedge thread(s).
